Named after 17th-century hymn writer Hallgrimur Petursson, Hallgrimskirkja is the largest and tallest church in Iceland, and has become one of the most photographed sites in the country. Listening to the large pipe organ inside HallgrÃmskirkja, which consists of over 5000 pipes, is a truly memorable experience.
Located near the western end of Laugavegur, the church offers a small fee observation tower with proceeds going toward its upkeep. Services take place every Sunday and are a great way to learn about the culture of Iceland. Additionally, hikers can take on an exciting adventure by trekking up to Hallgrimskirkja for some magnificent views of Reykjavik!
2. Hiking to a Glacier Ice Cave
